Bio

Julia Saulė Goodman (they/them) is a Lithuanian-American artist whose stark oil portraits of Lithuanian refugees investigate the tension between national pride and the residual fear from occupation. They completed their Bachelor’s of Fine Arts at the Columbus College of Art and Design (CCAD) where they were awarded CCAD’s Academic Scholarship for four years and achieved Dean’s and President’s list each year. They curated their first two thesis shows in spring of 2021 at the Beeler Gallery and the Acock Gallery. Their work has been featured at the Lithuanian Museum of Art in Lemont, at the Ian Sherwin Gallery in Chicago, at the Blockfort Gallery in Columbus, Ohio and at the Sean Christopher Gallery in Columbus, Ohio. They were featured in La Porte County’s Herald-Dispatch in, “La Lumiere Student’s Artwork to be Featured in Chicago Gallery.” They were also awarded the Land of Lakes Art Alliance Award. From 2021-2022 they worked at the Lubeznik Center for the Arts. The artist currently resides in Columbus, Ohio and is busy vending at pop-up events, working on commissions, and creating new work for an upcoming show.
